Governance, Risk and Compliance

Being in control is equally important to being profitable in order to stay in business. Whether it concerns adhering to internal policy, rendering account to shareholders and stakeholders, meeting legal and regulatory requirements or avoiding risk – they are facets that are imperative for any organization, regardless of the industry they are in.

Enter GRC. 
GRC stands for Governance, Risk Management and Compliance and makes sure that an organization meets its objectives, assures continuity and keeps its license to operate. GRC represents the metaphorical ‘other side of the coin’ of business process management in order to balance effectiveness, efficiency and control. 

A good and very relevant example of a GRC initiative is the EU Global Data Protection Regulation – GDPR. Effective 25th May 2018, every organization that does business in the EU will have to meet new data protection rules, or pay a steep fine. Compliance requires precise knowledge of the data you store and process, and the right data management policy across your organization.
